Resolutions for the New Year

I tend to set resolutions and goals throughout the year, for various reasons.  In 2014, I completed a 21-day vegan diet and, a few months later, a 100-day sobriety challenge.  I love to test my own mental will, endurance and discipline.

New year or not, I need to get my ass back in the gym.  I fall off the workout wagon for months at a time, but always return to fitness as a source of physical health and increased self-esteem.

My boyfriend bought me some new running shoes for Christmas, so I have no excuse.  It's time to get active and tighten up this bod.  At 37, I am reminded regularly that it takes a bit more effort to remain toned and feeling energetic. Working out requires some up-front elbow grease, but ends up extending my days hours longer, as I naturally fatigue at a much slower rate when I'm fit.

There are a million reasons to not go to the gym three times a week, but I'm going to find a million and one reasons to show up for myself.  As my mind continues to clear, it's time now to focus on the physical.
